RIDE WITH US

While we make every attempt to hold our rides as scheduled on occasion a specific ride may be cancelled or temporarily change time or day. Always check our facebook group (Sorella Cycling) for current ride information. You can also view our calendar.

Helmets are required on all rides. Lights are recommended for all rides a% are required on any rides that will be on the road/trail “after dusk”.  

Sunday Monthly Decatur/Grant Park Social Ride (4th Sunday . Start time and ride details are posted in Sorella Cycling – Facebook Group and our Calendar.

Starting from Decatur High School we’ll ride a casual 7 miles to the Grant Park Farmer’s Market and before heading back take a social break to enjoy a treat or two from the market. The ride is 14 miles roundtrip, mainly flat and on a Sunday morning very lightly traveled. If you’d like to stock up on goodies bring a pack and/or paniers for the trip back. This ride is open to all types of bikes and all levels of riders – commuters, hybrids, urban, road, beach cruiser (but please no tri bikes).

Starting location: Decatur High School, upper lot on W. Howard Street between N McDonough & Commerce Street.

Sunday Monthly Silver Comet Trail Ride – p/b Emory Sports Medicine (3rd  Sunday). Start time and ride details are posted in the Sorella Cycling – Facebook Group and our Calendar.

Starting from the either the Hiram Caboose (mile 14.5/Summer) or Comet Trail Cycles/Floyd Ride (mile 4.2/Winter)  we ride out & back on the flat Comet Trail. Our 3 target distances each month are 22, 32 and 54 miles – but with an out & back route you can easily adjust to the distance that will work for you). The ride is open to Sorellas, fellas & friends and is definitely beginner friendly. Rain (or forecast of rain) will cancel.

The  monthly Silver Comet Trail rides are presented by Emory Sports Medicine, one of our long time Sorella Cycling sponsors. Emory Sports Medicine wants us to know should we ever need them, they are there for us!

Starting Locations:

Silver Comet Trail, Seaboard Ave, Hiram, GA 30141 – mile 14.5 on the Silver Comet Trail. Parking lot next to the caboose, bathrooms are available

Comet Trail Cycles/Floyd Road 4342 Floyd Road, Mableton, GA–  mile 4.2 on the Silver Trail Comment. Ample parking and bathrooms are available.

Starting from our sponsor Eventide Brewing join us for a social pace, in-town ride on the 3rd Monday from March – October. This no-drop ride is 14-16 miles, lasts about 1 ½ hours and  is a mix of (lightly trafficked) streets and paved park trails. The ride is open to Sorellas, fellas & friends and is definitely beginner friendly. Plan to stay afterwards for brews at the discounted rate of $3 from our sponsor Eventide

Tuesday Night - Atlanta Cycling Ladies Only Evening Road Ride (March - October; Start times 6:15 pm March & Sept; 6:30 pm Apr - Aug; 6 pm October). Updates and ride details are posted in the Sorella Cycling - Facebook Group and our Calendar.

Starting from our sponsor Atlanta Cycling's Vinings location on Tuesday night's from March - October join us on one of  3 rides (11, 18 or 22 miles) on low traffic (yet hilly) streets through Vinings & Buckhead. All rides follow painted route markers and there is always one 'no drop' ride with a Sorella Sweeper leading from the back of the pack.  These rides are more social in nature with an emphasis on meeting others and gaining additional skills and becoming more comfortable riding on the road. Plenty of parking in front of the store.

Wednesday Night - Ladies Summer Buckhead Road Ride (April – September. Start times 6 pm April/September; 6:30 pm May-August). Updates and ride details are posted in the Sorella Cycling - Facebook Group and our Calendar.

Starting at E. Rivers Elementary School on Wednesday nights from April – September we tackle a hilly 21 mile route aiming for 14-15 mph. You need to be comfortable riding in a group on low traffic roads and able to handle the hills of Buckhead. The emphasis is on improving climbing skills and stepping outside of your comfort zone with a supportive group of women and is designed for experienced riders. These rides have a mix of social (between the hills) and hard (4-5 pretty good climbs) and will regroup at the top of the climbs.  After the ride there is a group that usually grabs dinner at Bell Street Burrito or another local restaurant.

Wednesday Night - Atlanta Cycling Co-ed Mountain Bike/Gravel Ride (March (start 2nd Wed) - October, Mar 6:15 / Apr 6:30 / Sep 6:15 / Oct 6:00). Updates and ride details are posted are posted  on the Atlanta Cycling Vinings MTB/Gravel Ride  website as well as Sorella Cycling - Facebook Group and our Calendar.

Starting from our sponsor Atlanta Cycling Vinings store on Wednesday nights  we get off the road and enjoy the trails! From the shop we ride the Callen-Rottenwood Creek Trail along the river to our destination – the MTB trails at Cochran Shoals. We’ll ride a loop or two, heading back to the shop at dusk. The ride will split into groups to accommodate a variety of ride levels.

Once a month, usually the 4th Wednesday, Sorella Race Team member Deirdra James will lead a women's only MTB/Gravel ride to Sope Creek. Details will always be posted in our Sorella Cycling Facebook group and on our calendar.

The trails are multi-use and will be closed when wet. Check daily trail conditions at SORBAAtlanta.org

Wednesday Night – Stone Mountain Winter Road Ride (Wednesday October – March; 6:30 PM). Updates and ride details are posted in the Sorella Cycling – Facebook Group and our Calendar.

Starting from the West Gate Parking Lot at Stone Mountain we’ll ride the 5 mile park loop – usually 20 miles with an average pace of 12-14 mph. This is a great ride for beginners and anyone not comfortable with road riding as the traffic is light and very few turns. While most of the road is flat there are some inclines to get your legs going. The ride is for Sorellas – fellas are welcome but will need to be comfortable riding at the Sorella pace!

The road is well lit but you need to be seen – lights and reflective clothing is a must.
